Speech and Drama

ITINERANT COMMUNICATION & DRAMA TUITION

Group or individual itinerant classes in communication, drama and speech are offered at King’s College during school hours.
Tuition incorporates:-
    •       Clarity and energy in communication
    •       Confidence in interpersonal exchanges
    •       Oral presentation skills, combined with target audience analysis
    •       Effective listening ability including: Reading aloud for context and impact
    •       All drama techniques – characterization, improvisation, verse speaking, text 
            exploration, movement, gesture, etc.

Students are given the opportunity to enter either Trinity Guildhall London or New Zealand Speech Board examinations or just benefitting from extended exposure to these important life skills.

In Year 13, students can taken an internationally recognised Trinity Guildhall Diploma (ATCL) in Speech and Drama or Communication Skills for those planning to enter the commercial world

The department works on a 5-day timetable which means that students operating academically on a 6-day timetable rarely miss the same lesson twice in a term.  

Participants from Years 12 & 13 can usually be assigned before school or lunchtime slots.
